Brownie Hawkeye and loading 620 film, Instamatic with those cartridges, Polaroids and those sticks used to coat the film. Then there was the SLR, Petri, Pentax, Canon, Nikon, wide angle, telephoto, zoom, flash ahhhhh... where did it all begin?
New York, in a small town near the northeast corner of the state, not far from Lake Champlain and the Canadian border. The Adirondacks with all their year-round beauty and peace. Algonguin ground is where I grew up on the Saranac River; the area in New York known for some of the most breathtaking scenery that exists anywhere. I've traveled the world and lived in various parts of the US and now happily make my home in the Willamette Valley just north of Salem, Oregon.
Since those Brownie days and snapping photos of my first bike and the snow covered trees I have had a love affair with photography. The Northwest offers much to feed this passion. Hiking and cycling the Pacific Northwest is truly a great gift. So much to see, experience and breath in. I hope the photo expressions I have presented will give you a taste of the Northwest and convey what flows through my spirit from the adventure of life. Enjoy.
